Odesa missile attack: number of injured rises to 73

Russian attack on Odesa has injured 73 people, while former deputy mayor and commander of the "Tsunami" battalion Oleksandr Gostishchev were killed.

Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko says 16 people are known to have been killed, including an employee of the State Emergency Service (SES).

Russia struck the city again when rescuers arrived at the scene to help the victims.

"Unfortunately, we also have losses among the National Police personnel. Strong, fearless fighters. No numbers, but with great respect for each of the victims." 

Russian troops attacked Odesa with missiles today, March 15, targeting civilian infrastructure.

Russia used Iskander-M ballistic missiles, launched from the occupied Crimea.

A paramedic and a rescue worker who had arrived at the scene after the first explosion had been killed in a Russian missile attack. There are also seriously wounded among the medics and rescuers.

Odesa schools reported that all children who were in schools and kindergartens at the time of the attack were safe.

14 people were killed and 46 others were injured in a massive attack in Odesa on March 15.

The death toll in Odesa had increased and 16 victims have already been reported.

The shelling destroyed a three-story building of a recreational facility and damaged at least 10 private houses, a service station, a low-pressure gas pipeline, an ambulance, and fire and rescue vehicles.
