United to win: Denmark to grant Ukraine $336 mln in new military aid package

Denmark will provide the 16th package of military aid to Ukraine. It is about 2.3 billion Danish kroner (over 336 million dollars).

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Denmark reported that.

According to the department, within the framework of the new aid package, Ukraine will receive CAESAR self-propelled artillery installations, 120-mm mortars, and corresponding ammunition.

In addition, the funds allocated by Denmark will be used to co-finance the production of artillery shells for CAESAR installations with France and 155 mm artillery shells with Estonia and the Czech Republic.

"Artillery and mortar systems are essential for Ukraine. With this package of donations, we are significantly contributing to the Ukrainian struggle for freedom. This assistance is provided in cooperation with our allies and is an important signal that we support Ukraine on a broad front," said Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

The official also noted that Denmark has been one of the most active donor countries since the beginning of the full-scale war with Russia in Europe. With the new aid package, Copenhagen emphasizes that "we are with Ukraine for the long term."

For reference:

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, said that Ukraine cannot win the war without weapons, and the world should speed up and increase support.

"We should support you much more because Ukraine cannot win a war without weapons. Just words are not enough," she emphasized.

On February 18, Denmark handed over all the artillery in stock to Ukraine.

On February 22, the Danish government announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine, almost 250 million dollars. In addition, Denmark announced signing an agreement with Ukraine to provide security guarantees for ten years.

It should be noted that Denmark and the Netherlands headed the aviation coalition for training Ukrainian pilots on American F-16 fighter jets. These countries have special flight simulators. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, showed a video of Ukrainian pilots training on the F-16 in Denmark.

The Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, visited Ukraine.
