50 drones attack Russia, targeting Taganrog aircraft plant
On the night of March 9, Russia allegedly shot down nearly 50 Ukrainian drones, the vast majority of which were attacking the Taganrog airfield.
Russia's defense ministry reports that Belgorod, Kursk, and Volgograd regions were the targets for Kyiv drones, but the air defenses repelled 47 of them.
Citizens of Kursk and Taganrog might have been skeptical of this statement, as they heard striking explosions at night.
A missile threat was announced in the Kursk region, followed by an explosion over the city. Russian air defense was reported to be operating, and governor Roman Starovoit reported that a drone had been shot down. Eyewitnesses reported that there was at least one powerful explosion.
Dozens of explosions were heard at night in Taganrog at the aircraft plant, which modernizes and repairs rare A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft.
Rostov governor Vasiliy Golubev said that air defense forces in Taganrog had "repelled a massive drone attack."
On March 6, explosions were heard in the Voronezh region, as the attack drones hit a fuel and lubricants warehouse.
An attack drone targeted a mining and processing plant in the Kursk region for the second time in the morning.
On March 5, the Ukrainian military allegedly shelled the Glushkovo railway station, located in the Kursk region. Drones also attacked the Gubkinskoye oil depot in the Belgorod region.
On the night of March 3, an oil pipeline was destroyed in the occupied Feodosia of Crimea.
