Estonian intelligence records increase in Russian assaults on frontline

Colonel Ants Kiviselg said that the pace of Russian operations in Ukraine, which had been decreasing, has begun to build up again.  However, despite the increase, Russia's operational and tactical goals remain unfulfilled.

Kupyansk-Lyman front

In Luhansk region, the main activity was observed on the Kupyansk-Kreminna-Svatove line. Russian forces seized additional territories in both areas.

The likely goal in the Kupyansk sector is to control a section of the Oskil River and a section of the Zherebets River in the direction of Lyman.

"Although Russian forces retain the initiative along the entire front line, the advance towards the Lyman was rather insignificant over the week, and Russia did not reach the aforementioned river frontiers." 

Donetsk region

In the Donetsk sector, the most fighting are taking place near Bakhmut and Avdiivka.

"In both regions, the armed forces have advanced. Fortunately, it is to a very small extent. There are some changes in the northwest and west of Bakhmut district. There were no significant changes on the frontline."

Ukrainian troops managed to create two defense lines in the Avdiivka area and prevented further Russian offensive. Russia also managed to achieve minor success in the Donetsk area.

Southern front

The activity in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions was slightly lower than the previous week.

"The greatest activity was observed in the areas of Robotyne and Verbove, where the Russia tried to advance." 

On the left bank of the Dnipro River, Ukrainian forces are still holding the bridgeheads they created there and repelling Russian attacks in the area.
