Russian drone attacks training ground of Ukrainian first responders in Kharkiv region

Russian forces attacked the training ground of the State Emergency Service in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region with drones, Rubryka reports.

"The attack partially destroyed a one-story administrative building at the training ground of one of the educational institutions. Also, the structural elements of the roof and ceiling of this building were on fire. The area of the fire was about 150 square meters," the report said.

Two rescue service departments with tankers were involved in eliminating the consequences of the Russian strike. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to other buildings and the pine forest. There are no casualties or injuries reported.

As Rubryka reported, Russian forces shelled the village of Borova in the Kharkiv region on March 6, injuring four people, including children, and killing one person.

Shelling of rescuers

As of September, 78 rescuers have been killed by Russian shelling in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war.

On March 4, Russian forces in the eastern Donetsk region attacked rescuers with a drone who were extinguishing a fire in the Kramatorsk district. Oleh Martynenko and Bohdan Ravlyk, aged 29 and 31, respectively, were killed in the Russian attack.

Also, two SES employees were killed in the Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region on November 15.

On September 12, Russian forces shelled the SES building in Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv region. Fortunately, the rescuers were not injured. 

In July, rescuers from Kostiantynivka were twice under Russian shelling during the firefighting operation in the Donetsk region.

On July 17, the Russians shelled a fire station in the northern Sumy region.
