Strike drone attacks mining plant in Kursk, Russia
For the second time, an unmanned aerial vehicle attacked a mining and processing plant in the Kursk Oblast, Russia.
The Telegram channel 112 reported, citing the Kursk governor, Roman Starovoit, that a drone again struck the Mikhailovsky mining and processing plant named after Varichev in Zheleznogorsk around 10:10.
The Varichev Mining and Processing Plant is one of the largest enterprises in Russia and the CIS for the extraction and enrichment of iron ore.
The governor also confirmed the information from the Telegram channel. Starovoit added that there were no casualties.
Earlier, explosions occurred in the Voronezh Oblast due to drone attacks. Also, drones struck at a fuel and lubricants depot in the Kursk Oblast.
Governor Roman Starovoit stated that the attack by the Ukrainian drone in the Zheleznogorsk district caused a fire at the fuel and lubricants depot.
"Today, following the attack by a Ukrainian drone in the Zheleznogorsk district, a fire broke out at the fuel and lubricants depot. A reservoir with fuel is burning. There are no casualties," he said.
Starovoit did not provide any further details but stated that emergency services had been dispatched to the scene.
"A drone hit a fuel tank directly on the territory of the Mikhailovsky mining and processing plant in the Kursk Oblast, and now firefighters are trying to extinguish the fire," Russian Telegram channels report.
Russian publications also report drone attacks on an oil depot and an airfield. Local residents of the village of Anna in the Voronezh Oblast claim that explosions occurred near the oil depot.
Recent attacks in Russia and Crimea
On March 5, the Ukrainian military allegedly shelled the Glushkovo railway station located in the Kursk Oblast, Russia, near the border with Ukraine. Drones also attacked the Gubkinskaya oil depot in the Belgorod Oblast.
In Volgograd, Russian partisans carried out sabotage on the railway to disrupt the logistics of the Russian occupation forces.
On February 15, drones attacked an oil depot in the Kursk Oblast, causing a fire, and Ukraine was blamed for the attack.
Also, on the night of February 24, powerful explosions occurred at the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant in Russia. Drones struck at important facilities. As a result of the attack, production processes will be suspended.
On the morning of March 2, there were loud explosions in the Russian city of St. Petersburg: local media reported a drone attack.
The oil refinery of the Russian occupiers was destroyed in the temporarily occupied Feodosia in Crimea on the night of March 3.
On March 4, Ukrainian Defense Intelligence confirmed that a railway bridge over the Chapayevka River in the Samara Oblast of Russia was put out of action.
