Russian attack on Odesa port kills five – Navy spokesperson
Russian attack on the Odesa port killed five people, Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk confirmed to Ukrainian media outlets.
The number of wounded in the attack is still being specified. Ukrainian law enforcement officers are conducting investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the Russian war crime.
The attack occurred during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotaki.
"We saw this strike today. You can see who we are dealing with, they don't care where they strike. I know that there were victims today, I don't know all the details yet, but I know that there are dead and wounded."
Zelensky was with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the port and heard the explosions close.
The group later visited a residential building in Odesa where 12 people, including five children, were killed in a Russian drone strike.
The strike on Odesa came just hours after Russia launched overnight drone strikes on locations across Ukraine in the largest wave of aerial attacks for weeks.
