The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Defense of Norway, Bjørn Arild Gram.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this.

"I informed about the situation at the front and the urgent needs of Ukraine, particularly in artillery and air defense. We discussed ways to strengthen our dialogue, particularly expanding cooperation in the defense industry," Rustem Umerov said.

The Minister of Defense thanked Norway for its support of Ukraine, especially in air defense and maritime security, and invited the Norwegian Minister to visit Kyiv.

As previously reported by Rubryka, Ukraine has started negotiations with Norway regarding the conclusion of a bilateral security agreement.

For reference:

As reported, in December, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that Norway would provide additional support to Ukraine, which would include funding for increasing the production of ammunition, means of strengthening air defense, as well as support for health care and education.

It should be noted that Norway will allocate 1 billion kroner (92 million dollars) for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

In addition, on October 11, Norway announced the allocation of financial aid for demining Ukraine. We are talking about 18.5 million dollars.

Also, Ukraine and Norway agreed to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector within the framework of the Nansen support program, which assists Ukraine in the amount of 75 billion kroner.

In addition, Norway and Great Britain created a naval coalition to support Ukraine. The initiative will become part of "a series of new coalitions" formed between NATO members to provide long-term military support to Ukraine.
