France reveals full list of military aid sent to Ukraine since start of full-scale war
The Ministry of Armed Forces of France has released a list of military aid provided to Ukraine over the past two years of the Russian invasion, including long-range missiles and air defense systems.
Rubryka reports that the table of 50 items includes protective gear, communication equipment, various armaments, and drones.
The list is dated December 31, 2023, before the signing of the bilateral security agreement between France and Ukraine.
Among the air defense systems Paris identified as priority areas of support for Kyiv, the following were delivered by the end of 2023:
- two Crotale NG systems,
- six Mistral MANPADS,
- one Franco-Italian air defense system SAMP/T.
No ammunition data is provided for any of the systems. The list also includes the CM200 air defense radar, which likely refers to the Ground Master 200 (GM200) radar announced in February 2023. Only SCALP missiles (an analog of the British Storm Shadow) are listed for air-to-surface strike capabilities, with no quantity disclosed.
Artillery is another priority area for French support to Ukraine in the war with Russia. By the end of 2023, Paris transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
- 30 Caesar self-propelled howitzers,
- six decommissioned TRF1 howitzers,
- four multiple-launching rocket systems and ten 120mm mortars.
France also provided 30,000 shells for the howitzers. Among the anti-tank systems are 1,002 AT4 grenade launchers and three MILAN ATGMs.
By the end of 2023, France delivered 38 light-wheeled AMX10 RC tanks and 250 armored or medical-configured vehicles to Ukraine, as well as 120 off-road vehicles and six trucks. 9,000 rounds of ammunition were provided for the main gun of the AMX10 RC.
Moreover, Ukraine received 160 "reconnaissance" drones and ten devices for drone detection. The specific drones are unknown, but the list only includes 30 inflatable Zodiacs Futura boats under "maritime vessels."
However, the French government previously expressed its willingness to expand cooperation in the field of drones and announced plans to build production facilities in Ukraine. This table, as described, only considers the assistance provided to Ukraine from external sources.
Small arms provided include 55 7.62mm machine guns, 560 12.7mm machine guns, 1,000 Famas rifles, and 20 sniper rifles.
Over the two years, Ukraine received 1.7 million 12.7mm cartridges, 1.1 million cartridges for light firearms including 9mm and 5.56mm calibers, as well as 10,500 grenades and 3,600 anti-tank mines. Other items include fuel, protective gear (body armor, helmets), medical kits, communication, and navigation equipment.
In total, France supplied military equipment to Ukraine worth €2.615 billion, supplemented by €1.2 billion donated to the European Peace Fund (EFF), totaling support of over €3.8 billion from February 24, 2022, to December 2023.
Nearly 10,000 Ukrainian military personnel have received training in the armies of Poland and France.
