Russian drone attack on Odesa kills two, injures seven

On the night of March 2, Russian forces attacked Odesa with Iranian drones. One of the drones hit a 9-storey residential building, destroying the entrance.

At least two people were killed and seven residents were injured, including a 3-year-old child and a pregnant woman, Ukrainian rescuers report.

"The enemy sent 8 attack drones from the Black Sea to Odesa region. Within an hour, the air defense units intensively repelled this attack. 7 targets were destroyed," the Southern Defense Forces reported.

One of the drones hit a 9-story building in a residential area during maneuvers among Odesa's residential neighborhoods. Part of the entrance with 18 apartments was destroyed.

Seven people were injured, including a 3-year-old child. Later, one dead person was found under the rubble.

A 3-year-old child suffered abrasions to his leg and is now under medical supervision. Six adults are preliminarily in moderate condition.

"Among the injured is a pregnant woman, she is in moderate condition in the hospital. Three more people with multiple injuries were also hospitalized, including a 26-year-old girl in serious condition, and two others in moderate condition."

Odesa mayor Gennadii Trukhanov also said that a part of a building in a densely populated area of the city collapsed. The injured are being provided with medical aid.

Utilities and a boiler room were damaged, and nearby houses were cut off from heating.

As of 7:00 a.m., two dead people were found, and seven more residents are not in touch.

The day before, enemy troops dropped bombs on three houses in a village in Zaporizhzhia district on February 29. One civilian was killed and six others were injured.
