Kyiv National Police joined the fundraiser for Sea Baby maritime drones by transferring one day's salary from all employees.

What is the problem?

At the beginning of the full-scale war, the Black Sea was totally dominated by the Russian Navy, which had a squadron of missile frigates, submarines, and many support ships.

Enemy ships anchored 300 kilometers away, where Ukrainian missiles could not reach, and fired targets or conducted reconnaissance, blocking routes to grain ports.

However, in 2022, Ukraine created the world's first fleet of maritime drones. Small and fast unmanned boats have changed the course of events at sea.

Russia is now increasingly losing its ships and is forced to move them as far away from Ukrainian shores as possible. The production is not yet large, so mostly volunteers are raising funds to provide Ukrainian military with maritime drones.

What is the solution?

The UNITED24 fundraising platform, monobank, and Ukrainian volunteers Serhii Sternenko and Ihor Lachenkov have started raising funds for 35 Sea Baby marine drones.

How does it work?

The Main Department of the National Police joined the fundraiser for Sea Baby drones by sending the one-day salary of all employees. Their contribution amounted to $80,000.

The whole amount, which was over $7 million, was raised in two days.

The Sea Baby surface unmanned attack boats have already hit nine Russian ships and the Crimean Bridge.

The drone can carry 850 kilograms of explosives, accelerate to 90 km/h, and cover a distance of 1000 kilometers.

On December 26, 2023, the Ukrainian forces attacked a large landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the Novocherkassk, near Feodosia, with drones.

On the night of February 1, the Ukrainian reconnaissance team destroyed the Ivanovets missile boat of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, worth $60-70 million.
