UK announces 200 anti-tank missiles in new aid package for Ukraine

British Defense Minister Grant Shapps announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine that includes 200 Brimstone anti-tank missiles, The Guardian reports. 

These missiles have had a significant impact on the battlefield in the past, including, in one case, forcing Russian troops to abandon and retreat during a river crossing attempt.

The UK will train additional Ukrainian troops alongside other allies, adding that together, they will train another 10,000 people in the first half of 2024.

London has previously pledged to order thousands of FPV drones for Ukraine, particularly from British manufacturers.

On February 22, Denmark announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth almost $250 million and called on its partners to increase arms supplies.

Denmark's PM decided to donate all the artillery it had in stock to Ukrainian forces.

On February 22, Canada would join the Czech initiative and allocate $23 million to purchase ammunition for Ukraine outside of NATO. Ottawa is also still studying how useful the decommissioned CRV7 missiles will be for Ukraine and how to transport them safely.

Czech President Petr Pavel said that Prague had found hundreds of thousands of artillery munitions abroad that it could deliver to Ukraine.

As part of its military aid package, Canada plans to provide Ukraine with 800 SkyRanger R70 drones worth a total of $95 million.

Ukrainian Armor arms makers also increased supplies of 122 mm high-explosive artillery rounds. On February 19, thousands of new rounds were delivered to Ukraine for the needs of the military.
