Ukraine evacuates 37 more children from frontline Donetsk region

Ukrainian rescuers from the Donetsk region helped evacuate 37 children, three of whom were taken out of the active hostilities zone.

Donetsk region suffers from daily Russian shelling, so there are no cities to feel completely safe. Realizing the danger to their lives, residents are actively evacuating to other regions of Ukraine.

"Rescuers are helping the local population in every possible way during the evacuation, including when leaving the area of active hostilities," the statement said.

Over the past day, rescuers of the FENIX evacuation group, together with police officers, evacuated five residents of the frontline village of Novoselivka Persha in Pokrovsk district, including three children.

Over the past day, rescuers also assisted 150 people, including 34 children and 15 people with reduced mobility, in evacuating Pokrovsk and Bakhmut districts.

Before the full-scale war, more than 1,900,000 people lived in the Donetsk region, according to authorities. Now, there are between 500,000 and 525,000 residents there.
