Ukrainian forces stop Russian advance in Zaporizhzhia region, eliminating 70 troops
Russian forces tried to start the offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region, sending about 30 vehicles and a large number of manpower to attack.
Ukrainian troops withstood the attack and eliminated about 70 enemy soldiers, the West command center reports.
The offensive ended in defeat for Russian side. Ukrainian soldiers destroyed most of the enemy's equipment, and the losses in manpower reached 150 people killed and wounded.
The anticipated attack ended up as a disaster for Russian soldiers, leaving 70 killed.
"Defense forces near Zaporizhzhia stopped the Russian offensive yesterday. 18 pieces of equipment (including 3 tanks) were destroyed, about 70 soldiers were killed, 80 are injured. After the offensive, the Russians retreated to their previous positions."
Over the past day, Ukrainian forces eliminated more than 1,000 more enemy troops, bringing the total losses of Russian forces since the beginning of the full-scale war to more than 402,400 soldiers.
Over the past day, Ukrainian troops also destroyed 11 tanks, 53 armored vehicles and 40 artillery systems. The air force downed 36 drones, 2 cruise missiles and three fighter jets.
