First, the city was rocked by explosions and later experienced problems with water and power, Rubryka reports, citing Mayor Borys Filatov and Serhii Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
"I hate it. They [Russians] are hitting civilian infrastructure," said the mayor of Dnipro.
According to the Air Force, drones approached the city from different directions, and the sound of anti-aircraft defense forces could be heard in Dnipro. After the explosions in one of the districts, there were disruptions in electricity and internet services, and heating failed in some areas.
The Dnipro Water Utility reported that the pumping station in the residential area of Livoberezhnyi-3 stopped working due to power outages, causing a partial interruption of the water supply.
Local social media posts mentioned a fire breaking out in one of the districts after a series of explosions.
Later, the DTEK energy company reported that due to Russian air strikes on Dnipro, one of DTEK Energo's thermal power stations was damaged, and electricity production ceased. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
"The enterprise's equipment was seriously damaged due to the attack. The station ceased electricity production. After the attacks stopped, the energy workers began to eliminate the consequences and restore the equipment," said the energy company.
In turn, Lysak revealed that defenders destroyed ten kamikaze drones in the Dnipro district but couldn't avoid hits in the regional center.
"For the second night in a row, there's been a massive drone attack on the region. Our defenders destroyed 10 'Shaheds' in the Dniprovskyi district. But there were several hits in Dnipro. An energy facility came under attack. A fire broke out, which was extinguished by firefighters," said the head of the region.
In addition to Dnipro, the Russians continued to terrorize the Nikopol district, attacking civilians with artillery. Shelling was recorded in Nikopol, Marhanets, and Mirivka communities.
The attacks damaged three private houses. One outbuilding was destroyed, and another was damaged. Additionally, fifty solar panels were smashed, Lysak added.
The Russian army also damaged a substation belonging to "Ukrenergo" in the Dnipropetrovsk region on February 12, leaving over 53,000 households without electricity, including seven mines where more than a thousand workers were present.
On the night of February 13, Russian forces launched 23 drones toward the southern part of Ukraine: air defense forces destroyed 16 "Shahed" drones.
