50 kilos of explosives found at crash site of Russian drone in Moldova
Sappers in Moldova discovered a combat component of the drone with about 50 kg of explosives near the Vulcănești district during an examination of the crash site of the Russian drone near the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.
The chief inspector of the Moldovan police reported on Monday that employees of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs neutralized and collected all the drone wreckage, Rubryka reports, citing NewsMaker.
In the near future, sappers will safely detonate the discovered explosive charge, the police said.
They stressed that from the moment the wreckage was discovered until the investigation was completed, the entire perimeter of the drone crash site has been surrounded to ensure safety and prevent access to the dangerous object.
Rubryka reported on February 11 that Moldovan border police discovered fragments of an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Shahed type near the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, not far from the village of Etulia in the Vulcănești district. The drone attack occurred on the night of February 10 in Ukraine's Izmail district, near the border with Moldova.
