She previously received an award from Ukraine's president for her many years of assistance to children and wounded soldiers.

"My parents were born there, so I feel that I need to go to Ukraine in this difficult time and help in any way I can," said Oksana Jackson.
The Lviv city council said that such visits by US doctors would be a good opportunity to share their experience with Ukrainian surgeons.
"Such visits are also a great opportunity for our doctors to learn from the invaluable experience of the leading reconstructive microsurgery specialist in the US and Vice President of the American Cleft Lip and Palate Association," said Ivan Miskiv, head of the St. Nicholas Children's Hospital in Lviv.

What is the solution?
Oksana Jackson is returning to Ukraine with a new mission.
The doctor has already become a good friend of the First Medical Association, so she and her team are going to Lviv for the second time.
They will consult and operate on children with birth defects, deformities, and neoplasms of the face and body for free at St. Nicholas Hospital.
How does it work?
The US doctors will be in Lviv from February 26 to March 2.
During this 5-day visit, the doctors will take on the most difficult cases, such as cleft lips and palate, speech disorders with cleft palate, facial paralysis, etc.
