Bulgaria starts sending 100 armored vehicles to Ukraine
Bulgaria has started sending 100 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine from the internal warehouses.
The agreement on delivering them was signed last year, bgnes outlet reports.
"The operation is ongoing. The Ministry of Defence supports the process of providing Ukraine with APCs from the Ministry of Internal Affairs."
According to the agreement, the Ukrainian side will be provided with armored vehicles with existing weapons and spare parts for its maintenance, which are no longer needed for the Bulgarian ministry's needs.
"The three ministries are working together. It's already clear who will load them where, where they will go. This is a very serious logistics operation," said the Bulgarian Defense Minister.
Last July, Bulgarian authorities announced the transfer of 100 armored vehicles to Ukraine as part of the largest military aid package.
Bulgaria has decided to join the joint purchase of shells for Ukraine. The parliament also voted behind closed doors using an unconventional procedure to supply unusable S-300 missiles to Ukraine.
In early December, the Bulgarian Parliament's Defense Committee supported the provision of unsuitable, obsolete, or surplus portable air defense missile systems and anti-aircraft missiles of various types to Ukraine to strengthen its air defense.
