Over hundred Kyiv citizens have attended first military training course for civilians

Over 100 Kyiv citizens participated in the first one-day event organized by the citie's authorities, as every Ukrainian must possess basic skills to protect themselves during war.

What is the problem?

During the war, it is important for everyone to be able to protect themselves, their homes and loved ones.

"After all, our enemy is also preparing, and they have strategic, operational, and tactical plans for the enslavement of our territory. And they have not postponed their plans," said the instructor of the Konovalets Military School with the call sign "John."

What is the solution?

The instructor says civilians need to understand the initial basis of military training.

"We need civilians to at least know how an assault rifle works, how to use camouflage, and so on. The initiative to create such centers demonstrates that military training and military life in general is not so scary."

How does it work?

More than a hundred people took part in the first event by the Kyiv Regional Center for Preparing the Population for National Resistance.

The instructors conducted tactical and firearms training, taught the basics of tactical medicine, and showed how to work with drones.

Despite the cold and field conditions, all the participants completed the full course.

"We are very pleased with our first event, because we saw that there are many people in the region who want to receive basic military training. We received more than two hundred applications in a couple of days. 

Not everyone got into the training, but this is just the beginning of our work. From now on, we will conduct both one-day classes and full-fledged courses lasting more than 100 hours," said Volodymyr Avdeenko, director of the Center and a veteran.

The Kyiv Regional Center for Preparing the Population for National Resistance will soon open enrollment for a full free course, during which those who wish to attend will be trained on a regular basis in 16 areas of military training.
