Germany delivers another military aid package to Ukraine

Germany has delivered another batch of military aid to Ukraine, including armored vehicles, ammunition, including missiles.

Rubryka reports the delivery, referring to the list published on the federal government website.

As reported, the new shipment includes:

  • 24 armored personnel carriers (the same number had already been delivered before),
  • Four Bandvagn 206 (BV206) tracked multi-purpose vehicles (previously, Ukraine received 69 of them),
  • One BIBER bridge layer with spare parts (14 units are already in use),
  • Three WISENT 1 demining tanks (Ukraine has a total of 19),
  • 14 tank demining devices (previously 11 were delivered).

Additionally, the package includes missiles for the IRIS-T air defense system, over a thousand 155mm artillery shells, a sea mine countermeasure system, and a Satcom video surveillance system (two units have been provided so far), four vehicles for border service (in addition to the existing 248), 450 anti-skid chains (for vehicles), and 194,000 individual food rations.

Recently, the German Minister of Defense, Boris Pistorius, stated that Germany sends shipments of aid to Ukraine almost daily, even small ones, to ensure continuous support.

About the recent aid from Germany

During the 18th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format), German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced his country's plans to supply weapons to Ukraine in 2024: air defense systems, tanks, and ammunition.

A novelty will be the transfer of six Sea King Mk41 multi-purpose helicopters with spare parts starting in the second quarter of 2024 and the training of pilots.

The minister reminded that in December, Germany provided another Patriot Phased Array Tracking Radar system with 56 guided missiles.

Pistorius also noted that in recent weeks, transports from Germany to Ukraine have been passing through the logistics hub in Poland almost daily.

Previous commitments amount to about five billion euros by 2028. In 2024, funds for further military support to Ukraine will almost double to approximately €7.5 billion.
