The UN Court recognized Russia's violation of certain parts of the anti-terrorism treaty, responding to a case brought by Ukraine.

The international court stated that Russia did not investigate the financial support of illegal armed groups in the districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the 2014 war.

At the same time, the judgment read by the Court chief Joan Donoghue did not specify the award of compensation, which was mentioned in the claims of the Ukrainian side in the lawsuit.

The court did not approve a specific ruling on Russia's alleged responsibility for the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over the occupied Donetsk region on July 17, 2014.

The UN Court confirmed a smaller part of the accusations brought by the Ukrainian side against Russia in the case of terrorism funding.

Considering the part on racial discrimination, the court ruled that it did not believe that Crimean Tatars and ethnic Ukrainians were physically abused by Russians on the basis of their ethnicity.

Instead, it could be explained by political opposition. Ukrainian organizations provided the evidence while international organizations with a mandate for such monitoring did not have access to the occupied Crimea.

The UN International Court of Justice will announce the final decision on Ukraine's lawsuit against Russia in the case of violation of the conventions on the prohibition of the financing of terrorism and the elimination of forms of racial discrimination in Donbas and Crimea.

Ukraine filed this lawsuit against Russia with the UN Court on January 16, 2017, and it is related to the aggression of the invaders in Crimea and Donbas.

The lawsuit alleges that the Kremlin has violated two conventions: on combating the financing of terrorism and on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination.
