Dnipro pays tribute to fallen defenders with Alley of Honor
Today, January 27, the Alley of Honor was opened in Dnipro to commemorate the fallen defenders of Ukraine who died as a result of Russian aggression.
Rubryka reports this.
The initiators of the creation of the memorial were the participants of the "Money for the Armed Forces. Dnipro" picket.
Military personnel, volunteers, relatives, and friends of those who died in the war honored the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine by placing blue and yellow flags signed with the names/callsigns of soldiers and combatants on the central avenue of the Dnipro.
In this manner, the citizens aim to remember that the war persists, the nation's finest individuals are losing their lives, and to prevent further loss, the focus must shift from city prosperity to bolstering support for the Defense Forces.
It is worth noting that such improvised memorials with the names of the fallen on flags have already been created in Kyiv on Maidan Nezalezhnosti, in Chernivtsi on Teatralna Square, and Odesa on Catherine Square. In Dnipro, this is an Alley located opposite the Dnipro City Council on Dmytro Yavornytskyi Avenue.
The location wasn't randomly selected, as it is situated in the heart of the city, directly across from the Dnipro City Council. This council approved a budget for 2024, where only a mere 2% (348 million out of 17 billion) is allotted to the Defense Forces.
From now on, residents of Dnipro and guests of the city can honor the memory of their friends and relatives who bravely defended Ukraine since 2014.
