Ukraine's government allocates ₴9.6 bln in military personal income tax to defense forces – PM
During its meeting on January 23, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to transfer UAH 9.6 billion of military income tax to the security and defense forces.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this.
According to him, the funds will be used to purchase weapons, equipment, ammunition, and means of protection.
"At every government meeting, we make decisions that strengthen our defense. Recently, a record 17.5 billion hryvnias were allocated for the construction of fortifications, and 792 million hryvnias were allocated for the urgent needs of military units," the Prime Minister noted.
The head of the government recalled that last fall, the executive and legislative authorities jointly made an important decision to redirect the personal income tax paid by our military from community budgets to the special fund of the state budget.
Thus, this year, the state received an additional resource — plus 51 billion hryvnias for developing the defense-industrial complex and more than 43 billion hryvnias — for producing drones.
At the same time, it was decided that 10% of the military income tax would be sent directly to the military units.
