Russian forces shell residential buildings in Kherson: 50-year-old woman killed, child injured

On Friday, January 19, Russian forces attacked residential buildings in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. 

Rubryka reports, citing the Kherson Regional Military Administration, that the Russian shelling injured a 16-year-old boy. Currently, he is hospitalized with injuries to his left leg. Medical professionals are preparing the wounded for urgent surgery.

This shelling damaged a four-story building. In one of the apartments, rescuers discovered the body of a woman. The deceased was approximately 50 years old.

Also, Russian forces dropped an explosive device from a drone onto an emergency team of the municipal enterprise "Kherson Vodokanal"  in the suburbs of Kherson. The Russian attack damaged the emergency repair vehicle.

According to preliminary information, there are no casualties among the emergency team members. Further details are still being clarified.

Russian occupiers constantly shell Kherson and the region, conducting attacks using aviation and artillery. As a result of such shelling, peaceful residents suffer injuries and fatalities.

During the past day, on January 18, the Russian forces carried out 67 shelling rounds, firing 413 shells from mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), tanks, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Eleven shells were fired at Kherson.

The terrorists targeted residential quarters of settlements in the region and critical infrastructure. As a result of the strikes, three people were injured.
