Ukrainian platform United24 raised about $124 million for 15 charity projects in 2023

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed the results of the United24 fundraising platform's efforts for the year 2023. 

The president shared a video report on his social media, Rubryka reports.

"In 2023, the United24 fundraising platform continued to unite people worldwide to support Ukraine. Thanks to you, bridges, buildings, and hospitals were restored, maritime drones, tens of thousands of FPV drones, pickups, all-terrain vehicles, armored, and regular ambulances were provided," said the president.

He expressed gratitude to those standing with Ukraine and assisting during this crucial time in the country's history.

Background on UNITED24

Initiated in May 2022 by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, the fundraising platform serves as the primary window for collecting donations in support of Ukraine.

Over the course of one and a half years, the UNITED24 fundraising platform has gathered $500,719,976 through contributions from more than 110 countries.

Among the ambassadors of UNITED24 are singer and actress Barbra Streisand, actors Mark Hamill, Liev Schreiber, Misha Collins, and Mark Strong, actresses Katherine Winnick and Ivanna Sakhno, Imagine Dragons band, Artistic Director of Balenciaga Demna, director Michel Hazanavicius, astronaut Scott Kelly, historian Timothy Snyder, British entrepreneur Richard Branson, country singer Brad Paisley, British adventurer Bear Grylls, philosopher and economist Francis Fukuyama, chef José Andrés, Nobel laureates Paul Nurse, Edward Mozer, and May-Britt Mozer, and prominent Ukrainian athletes Andrii Shevchenko, Elina Svitolina, Oleksandr Usyk, and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Today, it stands as the primary platform for donations to support Ukraine.

In related news, a new house was built for 15-year-old Sasha from the Mykolaiv region. He starred in the Imagine Dragons music video, which helped raise money for his house destroyed by Russian shelling,

It was also reported that the UNITED24 platform raised over ₴13 million in the #LEGOwithUKRAINE project and announced a new drop of constructors.

Moreover, Timothy Snyder, along with four professors from leading universities worldwide, raised $950,000 for the "Safe Sky" air target detection system. These funds cover the cost of 2,500 sensors and will protect the Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions from drones and missiles.
