Solutions to win: 20,000 Kyiv residents completed national resistance training courses in 2023

Petro Panteleev, Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration, reported that about 20,000 Kyiv residents completed courses on preparation for national resistance in 2023.

The "Municipal Guard" Communal Organization's combat-experienced instructors are responsible for training individuals willing to join the national resistance.

Training takes place in different training directions and has different durations – one day, five, etc.

On January 12, at one of the training bases of the "Municipal Security" CO, the final class of an in-depth five-day course on preparing citizens for national resistance, held at the base of the Department of Municipal Security of the Kyiv City State Administration, was held.

"If we recall the period before the full-scale invasion, then such exercises were carried out in the context of the formation of the territorial defense. Now, the Territorial Defense is part of Ukraine's Armed Forces. Therefore, training and exercises are now organized in the context of forming the national resistance system. Now, it is critically important for people to have knowledge and skills in behavior in the difficult conditions of military attacks. A set of exercises relates to the assault and defense of a platoon stronghold; this is a direct combat task. Along with this, there are trainings on providing medical aid, which, in my opinion, all civilians should undergo. After all, the city is under constant threat of shelling and basic information on providing first aid; all adult citizens should know," Petro Panteleev said.

He noted that training is conducted in conditions as close as possible to combat, so pyrotechnics work, explosions, and shooting are heard.

This is done to reflect the complexity and danger of war situations as accurately as possible and to form maximum responsibility and composure during exercises.

"After conducting each thematic part of the exercises, the participants conduct a briefing, share critical remarks, analyze mistakes and options for action to prevent these mistakes in the future," noted Petro Panteleev.

He thanked all the people of Kyiv who had already joined the training and successfully passed it, receiving a certificate, and urged everyone to be more active in signing up for future classes.

It should be noted that volunteer training is free of charge throughout the year.

Individuals who have successfully passed the final practical tests receive certificates upon completing the training program.

After the introductory one-day courses, enrolling in an advanced five-day program is possible.

Before the full-scale war, such exercises were conducted to form the composition of the territorial defense. Currently, the territorial defense is part of the Armed Forces, so training and exercises are performed to create a system of national resistance, explains the Kyiv City State Administration.

Registration for one-day free training for national resistance in Kyiv opened in July 2023.

Classes can be scheduled on weekdays or weekends, depending on your preference.
