Zelensky to make speech at Davos Forum on promoting security and cooperation in a fragmented world

On January 16, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is scheduled to speak at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos.

The head of state will be personally present and speak in the discussion panel "Achieving security and cooperation in a fragmented world." Economist, founder of the World Economic Forum in Davos Klaus Martin Schwab, and forum director Børge Brende will participate in the panel with Zelensky.

The World Economic Forum in Davos will last from January 15 to 19.

Earlier, the Swiss national newspaper Tages-Anzeiger wrote that Zelensky wants to visit the capital of Switzerland — Bern on January 15, and later personally plans to speak at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

What is known about the forum in Davos

On January 14, 2024, Switzerland and Ukraine will hold the fourth meeting of advisers on national security issues in Davos within the framework of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. The purpose of the meeting, which will be co-chaired by federal adviser Ignazio Cassis and the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, is to conclude negotiations at the level of national security advisers on the principles of a sustainable and just peace in Ukraine. These principles should become the basis of the following stages of the peace-building process. Switzerland supports these efforts, in particular, by holding a conference in Davos.

More than 80 delegations will participate in the Davos meeting next Sunday. The focus will be on the Peace Formula, which the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, presented at the end of 2022. The formula includes ten points for achieving sustainable peace in Ukraine.

Earlier, during a conversation with the emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Zelensky invited a representative of this country to Davos.

In addition, on January 8, the President had a telephone conversation with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa, and invited him to participate in the next event, which will be held this month in Davos.
