Russia launches cruise and ballistic missiles, including hypersonic Kinzhals, on Ukraine in early morning attack

On the morning of January 13, the Russian forces launched another massive combined strike with missiles of various modifications, including Kinzhals, on the regions of Ukraine. Explosions rang out in several settlements.

The Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces reported that on Telegram.

The Russian attackers made yet another effort to organize a large-scale missile attack. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian Tu95 bombers launched cruise missiles over their country from the Caspian Sea area.

After that, the MIG31K, which carried the Kinzhal missiles, took off from Russian Federation territory. An air raid alarm was then declared across Ukraine.

"There is a threat of missile attacks in areas where an alarm has been declared! We have reports of cruise missiles being launched from Tu-95MS aircraft in the Caspian Sea. Please go to shelters!" the Air Force emphasized.

The Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces noted that the launch of the X-101/555/55 type missiles was carried out from the 6 Tu-95MS bombers.

In addition, the take-off of the Russian MiG-31K fighter jet from the Savasleyka airfield of the Nizhny Novgorod Region was recorded.

"More Kh-31P launches (2 missiles) in the direction of the Berislav district of the Kherson region," wrote Ukraine's Air Force.

At 06:55, the launch of the supersonic Kinzhal missile in the direction of Dnipro became known.

At 07:11, the Air Force reported one Kinzhal heading towards Kyiv and missiles heading towards Kalynivka in the Vinnytsia region.

Explosions were heard in Kropyvnytskyi and Dnipro. Later, the explosions in Chernihiv were reported.

At 7:40, it was reported that there were high-speed missiles in the Chernihiv and Zhytomyr regions. Furthermore, Kinzhal missiles continue to be launched from the north. Another rocket was also spotted heading towards the Lviv region.

For this attack, the enemy used:

  • Kh-101/555 cruise missiles that were launched at least six times by Tu-95 aircraft from the Caspian-Volgodon region;
  • The Kh47M2 "Kinzhal" complex's aeroballistic missiles that were launched from the MiG31K:
  • ballistic missiles ZRK S400/OTRK "Iskander-M," launched from the temporarily occupied Crimea;
  • Kh-22/32 supersonic missiles fired from the Tu-22m3 aircraft from the Bryansk and Kursk regions;
  • guided air missiles of various types from the Su-34 tactical aircraft.

The Kh101/555 missiles flew for 2.5 hours, covering a maximum distance of 2,000 km.

The Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Volyn, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions were attacked.

For reference:

The last mass attacks on Ukraine were on December 29 and January 2

As Rubryka reported, on December 29, Russian troops launched a massive air strike on Ukraine. Since night, the invaders attacked with kamikaze drones and missiles of various types.

The enemy used about 160 means of air attack, and several regions were affected.

Air defense destroyed 27 drones and 88 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles.

It should be added that on January 29, several other regions were affected:

On January 2, a series of powerful explosions thundered in the morning in Kyiv. The occupiers fired ballistic missiles at the capital.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, the air defense forces hit all Shahed-type attack drones, more than 60 Kh-101/Kh555/Kh-55 missiles, and a dozen Kinzhals in the Kyiv area. The air raid alert lasted almost 6 hours in total.

Two people were killed by Russian missiles in Kyiv and the region, respectively. In addition, 54 victims, including one child, were injured in the capital. Apartment buildings and other civil infrastructure were damaged.

Kharkiv also came under a massive rocket attack. There, a 91-year-old woman was killed by shelling, and more than 50 people are known to have been injured.
