Markus Faber, a member of the Bundestag, announced this on the X social network.
"In the west of Ukraine, FFG – Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft – is building a repair center for armored vehicles that need repair, for example (tanks – ed.) Leopard 1, which it supplied," wrote a politician from the Free Democratic Party.
According to him, this means a massive increase in efficiency for Ukraine since, in the future, there will no longer be a need for expensive and time-consuming transportation of damaged equipment abroad, and the military will be able to train its mechanics directly on the spot.
Faber visited the location of the future center and claimed that "German taxpayers' money is being used wisely."
The liberal deputy thanked FFG Ukraine for its understanding and meaningful work.
It is worth noting that Faber consistently advocates increasing military aid to Ukraine.
The day before, he wrote on the X social network that Germany should hand over Taurus missiles to Ukraine's armed forces, which would be able to reduce the offensive capabilities of the aggressor.
He recalled that since the middle of last year, the British StormShadow has been helping those who were attacked during Putin's war of aggression.
"Since the middle of last year, someone in the chancellor's office has been unable to find a stamp for an export permit – to do the same as the British and the French."
He wrote:
"The return of the occupiers' troops home is the basis of peace. Ukrainians can motivate the occupiers to return home only through military pressure. Taurus helped create this pressure. Let's talk to Putin in a language he understands."
As reported, a large arms manufacturer from Germany, Rheinmetall, also plans to build its own industrial facilities in Ukraine in 2024.
For reference:
The Federal Antimonopoly Office of Germany allowed Rheinmetall to create a joint venture with Ukraine at the end of September.
It was reported that the company will be based in Kyiv.
Rheinmetall noted that the Kremlin's threats to intensify the bombing of Ukraine would not affect the intentions of the German arms company to build a tank plant in Ukraine.
It was previously reported that the German concern, Rheinmetall, was negotiating the construction of a tank plant in Ukraine.
It is important to note that Rheinmetall is actively helping Ukraine in the war against Russia by supplying ammunition and various equipment. In particular, the concern recently received a new order for artillery shells for Ukraine.
