34 wounded and four killed in Russian missile strikes across Ukraine
On the morning of January 8, Russian forces launched massive missile strikes on Ukraine.
Due to the Russia attack, 34 people were injured, and four lost their lives, Rubryka reports, citing the Khmelnytskyi Regional Miltary Administration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the Deputy Head of the President's Office, Oleksii Kuleba
The Russian attack on a residential building in the Lozuvatka community in the central Dnipropetrovsk region killed a 62-year-old woman.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, around 10:30 a.m., Emergency Services completed search and rescue operations at the site of the Russian attack in Zmiiv, in the northeastern Kharkiv region.
"Firefighters recovered the body of a 63-year-old woman from under the debris of a private house," said the department.
Kuleba pointed out that in Novomoskovsk, where a minibus was overturned by the blast wave, 24 people sustained injuries, including five children.
Additionally, in Zmiiv, rescuers saved two men aged 60 and 90.
"In the city of Kharkiv, civilian facilities are damaged. Municipal services are on-site, continuing to eliminate the consequences of the strike. Two individuals were injured," he mentioned.
Five more were injured in the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia and one in the central city of Kryvyi Rih.
In the western city of Khmelnytskyi, Russian occupiers targeted one of the infrastructure facilities, resulting in the death of two civilians.
"Unfortunately, we already have two fatalities. It's a significant loss because everything can be restored and rebuilt except human life," said the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration.
"Buildings are damaged. Unfortunately, two people lost their lives," the city's mayor added.
According to Tiurin, the Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted two missiles within the Khmelnytskyi region. However, the Russians also inflicted strikes on infrastructure facilities in the region. There is a fire being contained by the Emergency Services.
Earlier, the National Police press service informed that in the city of Khmelnytskyi, a residential building was damaged due to the Russian missile attack.
Overall, in the Western region, Ukrainian air defense destroyed ten Russian cruise missiles.
Attack on Ukraine
Since the morning of January 8, an air raid alert has been declared in Ukraine. The Air Force reported the launch of MiG-31K. The entire map turned "red" within minutes.
Explosions occurred in Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia, with air defense systems active in the Khmelnytskyi region. Kryvyi Rih experienced a massive missile strike. Russia shelled industrial facilities in Kharkiv, and one injury is confirmed.
In Zaporizhzhia, five explosions were heard, with impacts on residential areas, and injuries have been reported.
Also, this morning, January 8, during the Russian attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Russians targeted Novomoskovsk. A woman was killed in the Kryvyi Rih district.
On the evening of January 7, it became known that Russians launched "Shahed" kamikaze drones into Ukrainian territory. Air raid alerts were announced in some regions. Overall, air defense systems intercepted all eight drones of the "Shahed-131/136" type launched by Russia during the night.
As reported by Rubryka, late yesterday evening, Russian occupiers also launched missile strikes on Kharkiv, resulting in several explosions in the city and hits in the Volchansk community of the Kharkiv region.
