Blast wave from Russian attack overturns a bus in Dnipro region: 24 people injured, including five children

On the morning of January 8, during the Russian attack on the central Dnipropetrovsk region, the Russian forces targeted the town of Novomoskovsk. An explosion overturned a minibus, resulting in dozens of civilian injuries. 

In the Kryvyi Rih district, there is a reported death, Rubryka reports, citing the Telegram channels of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration head Serhii Lysak and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko.

"Novomoskovsk got hit. A fire broke out, and it had already been contained. The explosion flipped a minibus passing by. Three administrative buildings, two gas stations, a five-story building, and a car were damaged. Preliminary reports mention 24 injured in the city, including five children aged 4 to 17, all in moderate condition in the hospital," said Serhii Lysak, head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.

According to Ihor Klymenko, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a minibus was overturned in Novomoskovsk by the explosive wave.

"Eight passengers got out on their own. In total, 20 people sought medical help, including four children," he specified information about the victims.

According to the regional administration, the following were damaged:

  • Three administrative buildings
  • Two gas stations
  • A five-story building
  • A car

The Russian forces also targeted Kryvyi Rih, damaging a shopping center and over two dozen private houses.

A 58-year-old man suffered shrapnel injuries and is in satisfactory condition.

There were hits in the Lozuvatka community of the Kryvyi Rih district. A 62-year-old woman was killed, and a private house was destroyed.

"In the Kryvyi Rih district, a private house is destroyed, and one person is dead. A private house is destroyed, and in Kryvyi Rih, three people may be under the rubble. Also, a trade and entertainment center is damaged," said Klymenko.

Attack on Ukraine

Since the morning of January 8, an air raid alert has been declared in Ukraine. The Air Force reported the launch of MiG-31K. The entire map turned "red" within minutes.

Explosions occurred in Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia, with air defense systems active in the Khmelnytskyi region. Kryvyi Rih experienced a massive missile strike. Russia shelled industrial facilities in Kharkiv, and one injury is confirmed.

In Zaporizhzhia, five explosions were heard, with impacts on residential areas, and injuries have been reported.

On the evening of January 7th, it became known that Russians launched "Shahed" kamikaze drones into Ukrainian territory. Air raid alerts were announced in some regions. Overall, air defense systems intercepted all eight drones of the "Shahed-131/136" type launched by Russia during the night.

As reported by Rubryka, late yesterday evening, Russian occupiers also launched missile strikes on Kharkiv, resulting in several explosions in the city and hits in the Volchansk community of the Kharkiv region.
