Russian troops shell Kharkiv region’s Kupyansk district, killing one and injuring two

Today, January 7, in the Kupyansk district of the Kharkiv region, a man was killed, and two civilians, including a minor, were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reports this on Facebook.

Under the procedural guidance of the Kupyansk district prosecutor's office of the Kharkiv region, pre-trial investigations into violations of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) have been initiated.

According to the investigation, on January 7, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Russian invaders fired at the village of Senkove, Kupyansk district.

A 17-year-old boy received a shrapnel wound.

At 2:20 p.m., the enemy shelled the village of Nechvladavka, Kupyansk district, destroying and damaging the settlement:

• residential buildings,
• farm buildings,
• cars.

A 50-year-old civilian was killed. Another woman was injured, and medics treated her on the spot.

Russian service members hit the villages with small-arms fire.

Prosecutors, in cooperation with police investigators, take all measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the armed forces of the aggressor state.

It should be noted that Russian troops shelled the border town of Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, twice; as a result of the attacks, residential buildings and an enterprise were damaged, and a fire broke out.

"Around 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., the enemy shelled the city of Vovchansk, Chuhuyiv district. Residential buildings, a garage with a car, and an enterprise were damaged. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties," the post says.

According to the Department of Emergency Situations information, a fire broke out on the territory of a private estate due to the impact of projectiles. A residential building, a garage, and a car were on fire. The total area of the fire was about 100 square meters.

The regional administration informed that between 11:20 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., the enemy shelled the outskirts of Lyptsi, Hlyboke, Vesele, and Slobozhanske of the Kharkiv district. A private house and a shop were damaged. There was no information about the victims.

On the last day in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops attacked the settlements of Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuyiv, and Kupyansk districts with the use of artillery, mortars, and aviation; one person was injured.

On the night of January 7, the Russian occupiers launched 28 drones over the country: the air defense forces managed to destroy 21 Shahed UAVs.

As a result, Shahed drones hit a house in Dnipro; 6 residents were saved.

In addition, the enemy launched three S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from temporarily occupied areas of the Donetsk region.

It is worth adding that in the village of Rivne, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region, which was shelled by the invaders the day before, rescuers unblocked the body of a dead child from under the rubble.

Also, in Pokrovsk, rescuers recovered the body of a man at the site of a house destroyed by an enemy rocket attack.
