Over the past few days, Ukrainian aviation has destroyed another command post of the Russian occupiers in Crimea, namely in Saky.

The Air Force Commander, Mykola Oleshchuk, reported that on Telegram.

It is worth noting that on the night of January 6, powerful explosions were heard in Crimea in the area of temporarily occupied Yevpatoria. Eyewitnesses report a possible attack on a military airfield.

As noted, eyewitnesses counted up to 10 explosions near the Saky airfield in Novofedorivka.

Subsequently, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that on the night of January 6, their air defenses shot down four aviation-guided missiles over the occupied Crimea.

"On January 6, around 00:30 Moscow time, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of aerial guided missiles against objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped.

Four Ukrainian missiles were intercepted and destroyed over the Crimean peninsula using regular anti-aircraft defense," the message said.

In his post, the commander of the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces confirmed the missile strikes on Saky and the destruction of the command post there, which is located on the airfield near the village of Novofedorivka in the west of Crimea.

"Saky airfield! "All targets shot down!" [ironically referring to the Russians' claim – ed.]

Unfortunately, our Air Force was left without one control point in Crimea!" the commander said.

The successful operation was probably carried out thanks to the work of Ukrainian pilots, for which the commander thanked.

"Once again, I thank our pilots for their excellent work!" Oleshchuk said.

For reference:

On January 4, there were a series of explosions in Crimea. Photos and videos showing that the peninsula was hit were shared online.

Later, Ukraine's armed forces confirmed that an attack had been made on the enemy's command post near Sevastopol. There is no information about Russian losses yet.

However, Russia confirmed the elimination of 23 of its military personnel during the Ukrainian attack on the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Among them are high-ranking officers and "special forces".

"They hit the target. Military facilities in Saky district and near Sevastopol were damaged… 23 soldiers were killed at two facilities," the "Krymsky Veter" Telegram channel reports.

It also became known today that the Ukrainian military hit Russian ammunition depots in the temporarily occupied Crimea on January 5.
