Slovakia to send Ukraine more than €203,000 worth of humanitarian aid
Slovakia will provide Ukraine with humanitarian aid worth over €203,000.
The aid package includes power stations, heaters, clothing, and medical kits, Rubryka reports, citing Slovakia's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"Slovakia will provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the amount of €203,492 based on Ukraine's request for assistance and the European Commission's call to member states not to weaken demonstrations of solidarity with the civilian population affected by the military conflict," the statement said.
The cargo, weighing 21 tons, includes power stations, heaters, clothing, medical kits, as well as food, bottled water, and clothing, as specified in the announcement.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Slovakia added that the recipients of the aid would be the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in Kyiv, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Lviv, the regional enterprise "Donetskteplokomunenergo" in the Donetsk region, and the city council of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.
What we know about Slovakia's assistance to Ukraine
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal recently had a conversation with his Slovak counterpart, Eduard Heger. During the discussion, the two parties talked about the energy system and Bratislava's support for Ukraine in importing electricity during the winter.
Ukraine and Slovakia have previously signed a contract for the production of the Zuzana 2 self-propelled artillery.
Moreover, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is in negotiations with the Croatian company DOK-ING and the Slovak company Way Industries regarding the localization of the production of demining machines in Ukraine.
Slovakia's President, Zuzana Čaputová, has also stated that Bratislava was ready to help Ukraine promptly fulfill the requirements necessary for full membership in the European Union.
