The US has found no evidence of misuse of the weapons provided to Ukraine and continues to ensure that all aid is used for its intended purpose.

If Congress does not authorize further support for Ukraine, military aid will have to be stopped, says the White House advisor John Kirby.

"We have not seen any indication that this (accountability in Ukraine – ed.) is not the case, or that there is widespread corruption or abuse by the Ukrainian army."

The US side is directly interacting with the Ukrainian on accountability in this matter. To this end, US experts are working in Kyiv.

Yet if the Congress does not approve further support for Ukraine, military aid will have to be stopped.

The US will do everything possible to ensure that Ukrainians receive the necessary weapons.

When asked if there were any weapons reserves that could be used now for Ukraine to be restored later, the administration representative said:

"I'm not aware of any 'quick solution' that could be done."

At the same time, he noted that he did not want to "get ahead of the decision-making process" in this regard.

"We will do everything we can to continue to support Ukraine. But in terms of the types of weapon systems that we can provide and the frequency with which we've been providing them – every two weeks – those capabilities ended on December 27, when we provided our last package for the year that we had funding for."

US aid for Ukraine

On December 12, the Biden administration announced a $200 million military aid package to Ukraine, which includes artillery shells, small arms ammunition, and other weapons.

The Pentagon pledged to send another aid package.

According to media reports, the US Senate has made progress in negotiations on border security to unblock aid to Ukraine.

Both Republicans and Democrats said they have positive expectations in the context of negotiations on migration reform, which is a prerequisite for approving aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.

The Pentagon said that if the Congress does not approve new funding, the funds for military assistance to Ukraine will run out on December 30.

The US is running out of money to finance military aid to Ukraine. In this regard, President Joe Biden requested more than $100 billion from Congress, including more than $60 billion for Ukraine. Congress did not support this initiative.
