Ukrainian special forces strike Russia's most modern radar complex "Yastreb-AV"

Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, along with a unit from the Defense Forces of the South, have destroyed Russia's state-of-the-art artillery reconnaissance complex 1K148 "Yastreb-AV."

According to the Special Operations Forces Command, during reconnaissance operations on the southern front, the crew of an unmanned aerial vehicle from the 73rd Naval Center of the Special Operations Forces identified the 1K148 "Yastreb-AV," Rubryka reports.

Ukrainian fighters, together with a friendly unit from the Defense Forces, adjusted the fire from HIMARS to the Russian target. As a result of the artillery strike, the "Yastreb-AV" complex was destroyed.

"Yastreb-AV" is considered the most advanced Russian radar complex used for artillery fire position reconnaissance. With its radar system, it can track the trajectory of enemy missiles and calculate precise coordinates for their artillery positions. This data is then transmitted to the artillery for targeting.

About Ukrainian special forces

The Special Operations Forces are a separate branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, consisting of special purpose units and information-psychological special operations units.

Their unofficial anthem is the song "Tikho Pryyshov, Tikho Pishov" (He Came Quietly, He Left Quietly), created during the Russo-Ukrainian War. During Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the special forces soldiers carried out several crucial operations, including:

  • In the gray zone in Donetsk, fighters destroyed Russian BMPs and tanks.
  • Near Soledar, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated over a hundred Russian occupiers.
  • Fighters adjusted HIMARS fire on the EW "Sinytsya."
  • On the Avdiivka front, fighters eliminated an enemy group.

As reported by Rubryka, a Ukrainian serviceman who found himself in Russian captivity and was held in an enemy trench was guided by a drone to freedom
