“With every missile, Putin shows that he wants to destroy Ukraine” – German FM

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, condemned the latest massive missile attack by Russia on Ukraine on the morning of January 2.

Baerbock wrote about this on Twitter (X).

"With every missile, Putin shows that he wants to destroy Ukraine. With the help of the Patriot and IRIS-T systems that we supply, lives are saved daily," she wrote on X's social network.

Baerbock added that her country will support the people of Ukraine as long as they need Western support.

"We will be close to the people of Ukraine as long as they need it until everyday life without fear and terror is possible," Baerbock concluded.

Earlier, Rubryka reported that Denise Brown, the humanitarian coordinator of the United Nations in Ukraine, condemned the missile attack by the Russian military on Kyiv and Kharkiv.

On January 2, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine. In total, the Russian Federation used more than 130 means of destruction: 35 Shahed drones and 99 missiles, including Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 from Tu-95 bombers, Kinzhal missiles from MiG-31K aircraft, Kalibr from the sea and Iskander-M type missiles/ S-300/S-400 from the north.

Air defense destroyed all Shahed UAVs and 72 out of 99 missiles: 10 Kinzhals, three Kalibers, and 59 out of 70 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 missiles.

A series of powerful explosions thundered in Kyiv in the morning. The Russian occupiers fired ballistic missiles at the capital.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, the air defense forces hit all Shahed-type attack drones, more than 60 X-101/X555X-55 missiles, and a dozen "Kinzhals" in the Kyiv area. The air alert lasted almost 6 hours in total.

Two people were killed by Russian missiles in Kyiv and the region, respectively. Another 49 were injured, including one child. Apartment buildings and other civil infrastructure were damaged.

Kharkiv also came under a massive rocket attack. There, a 91-year-old woman was killed by shelling, and more than 50 people are known to have been injured.
