Russia attacks Kharkiv with ballistic and ground-to-air missiles: 42 civilians injured
Russian forces attacked the northeastern city of Kharkiv with Kinzhal ballistic missiles and S-300 air defense rockets.
In the city, four people, including children, are in critical condition due to Russian strikes, Rubryka reports, citing the statement of Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
"Based on our information, these were S-300 missiles; however, according to air defense data, two missiles were 'Kinzhals.' The information is still being verified," said Syniehubov.
According to the head of the regional administration, the Russians launched at least six missile strikes on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv.
"As of now, we know about one woman who lost her life. Preliminary data indicates 41 casualties, including two children, who are in the hospital. 17 injured civilians have been hospitalized, with four in critical condition," Syniehubov reported.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov shared on Telegram that information about casualties is still being clarified.
"Relevant services are working at the sites of the strikes, and all fires have been extinguished," he added.
Attack on Kharkiv
Early on the morning of January, an air raid alarm was announced in Ukraine. Kyiv and Kharkiv were already under massive attack, with explosions reported in other regions as well.
Later, it became known that Russia launched four strikes on the center of Kharkiv.
One person was killed in the attack, and 41 were injured. Multi-story residential buildings, utility structures, and civilian infrastructure were damaged.
