Germany allocates €24 mln to restore Ukraine's energy grid

The German Development Bank KfW allocates €24 million to Ukraine's energy supplier Ukrenergo to restore a substation damaged by Russian attacks.

The relevant loan agreement, as well as a grant agreement worth €500,000 to finance the project "Improving the Efficiency of Electricity Transmission," was signed by KfW and the Cabinet of Ministers, which acted as a loan guarantor.

The KfW bank has attracted about €133 million in loans and grants to restore Ukrainian substations to Ukrenergo.

Germany handed over a winter aid package worth over €88 million to Ukraine through the European Energy Community.

The German Foreign Ministry provided €6.1 million in comprehensive humanitarian aid to Ukraine during the second winter of Russia's war, the largest logistics operation in the history of the Federal Agency for Technical Assistance (THW).

On October 14, Germany handed over Bandvagn 206 multi-purpose tracked all-terrain vehicles, border guard vehicles, and 50 drone detection systems to Ukraine.

On October 11, Germany announced new military aid to Ukraine worth about one billion euros. The package includes additional air defense systems, tanks, and ammunition.

During a visit to Kyiv on November 21, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced a new aid package for Ukraine

The second Patriot system, which Germany promised to provide to Kyiv, will be installed in Ukraine this year.
