Russian army "continues to use 'meat assault' tactics" in attempts to capture Avdiivka – National Guard
On the Avdiivka front, Russian troops continue to use the "meat assaults" tactics to assault Ukrainian positions and capture the town.
Russian forces have been trying to encircle Avdiivka since October this year, attempting to fully capture it until Russian elections in spring.
The National Guard press service confirms the elimination of 51 Russian troops.
Ukrainian units damaged one tank, and several artillery systems.
The military said that last week a detachment of the Special Forces Center was performing a mission near Avdiivka, which included reconnaissance, strike and search operations, and sniper and counter-sniper activities.
"For example, the other day the unit's scouts timely detected an assault group that was hit by a crew of an anti-tank grenade launcher. The enemy retreated after suffering losses," the statement said.
According to the military command, Ukrainian troops continue to hold back the enemy in Avdiivka.
The UK intelligence noted that the Russian army suffered heavy losses near Avdiivka, but there was no progress on three frontline areas.
The Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi noted that in the month since the Russians began actively storming the outskirts of Avdiivka, Russia has lost about 10,000 soldiers in this area.
