The impact of the Russian landing ship "Novocherkask" in the port of Feodosia, which took place on the night of December 26, refutes the statement about the alleged "dead end" in the war in Ukraine.

The Minister of Defense of Great Britain Grant Shapps on X (Twitter).

As noted by the British minister, the destruction of the ship "Novocherkask" in the port of Feodosia serves as evidence that claims of a "stalemate situation" on the front are untrue and "those who believe there's a stalemate in the Ukraine war are wrong!"

"They haven't noticed that over the past four months, 20% of Russia's Black Sea Fleet has been destroyed," he added.

The head of the British Defense Department emphasized that the naval coalition would help Ukraine win in the Black Sea.

"Russia's dominance in the Black Sea is now under threat, and a new coalition of naval forces led by Great Britain and Norway is helping to ensure Ukraine's victory at sea," concluded Shapps.

In turn, Ukraine's armed forces published a photo of the consequences of the attack by the Ukrainian military on the large landing ship Novocherkask. In the photo, you can see that only a pile of burnt metal remains at the place where the ship was probably moored.

For reference:

On December 26, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the large amphibious ship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation "Novocherkask" in the Feodosia region.

According to the "Krymsky Veter" Telegram channel, this ship brought Shahуd kamikaze drones from Iran, with which the occupiers attacked Ukraine. Later, the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces reported that on Telegram. In turn, Oleshchuk thanked the pilots of the Air Force and everyone involved for their meticulous work.

In addition, the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces reported that the ship was destroyed precisely by the cruise missiles of Ukrainian aviation.

Ihnat said that the Russian invaders would not be able to use the landing ship "Novocherkask," which the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked.

It should be noted that explosions are generally heard more often in Crimea. Ukraine's defenders have already conducted dozens of operations on the peninsula and in the Black Sea, destroying Russian bases, warehouses, and ships.

Thus, in October 2022, maritime drones of the Security Service of Ukraine attacked ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in Sevastopol Bay, damaging, in particular, the Admiral Makarov frigate.

In general, in 2023, Security Service's drones struck:

In turn, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are capable, if necessary, of striking the enemy in any part of the Crimea temporarily occupied by Russia.
