Ukraine has created a 200-mile defense line with latest maritime drones – intelligence

Successful drone attacks, along with missile strikes on Russian naval bases in the Black Sea, helped Ukraine drive enemy ships out of Sevastopol Bay and create a safe sea corridor for merchant ships, the intelligence report says.

A warrior who commands the DIU's fleet of surface attack drones, call sign "Thirteenth," spoke about the importance of a new technological type of weapon, known as naval attack drones.

The destruction of Russian Akula and Serna-class landing boats, and successful attacks on the patrol ship reconnaissance vessel are all the responsibility of Ukrainian military intelligence operators.

"When we hit the target, the whole team was, of course, overwhelmed with emotions. We were shouting and congratulating each other," the soldier described his emotions after the Kotov's defeat.

Russian forces are trying to prevent maritime drone attacks in various ways, so each new mission requires improvement of both tactics and weapons.

In 2023, the naval drones helped Ukraine clear a sea strip of up to 200 miles from the coast from Russians, creating a safe shipping corridor.

"They can be pushed back. Russia's dominance in the Black Sea is over."

During the year, the fleet of marine drones has hit eight Russian vessels, which forced Russian troops to move some of their ships from the occupied Crimea to Novorossiysk, but this port could not accommodate all Russian ships, so the state decided to use the occupied part of Georgia for this purpose.
