Ukraine's social ministry has presented a teaser of the unified state online platform on adoption and family upbringing of children, called "Ukraine for Every Child".

The service is expected to be launched in early 2024, the press release says.

What is the problem?

The teaser aims to collect feedback from potential users of the future online platform. This product is to make Ukrainian society more aware of family-based child-rearing and make the path of future adoptive parents and families as clear and easy as possible.

"People who have opened their hearts to take a child into a family, who are ready to share their love with him or her, have great courage. Our platform will support them on this path," said Oksana Zholnovych, Minister of Social Policy.

What is the solution?

"We are building a unified platform that will become a guide to finding a family for every orphan and child deprived of parental care in Ukraine," said Iryna Tuliakova, head of the Coordination Center for the Development of Family-Based Care and Education.

The platform will be a place to provide counseling support and become a kind of step-by-step roadmap for those who are embarking on the path of adoption and alternative parenting.

It is being created as part of the reform to ensure the right of every child in Ukraine to grow up in a family environment. Anyone can take care of a child: be an example, give advice, report danger, or take a child into their family.

The reform to ensure the right of every child in Ukraine to grow up in a family environment is a priority for the country and one of the necessary steps towards European integration.

How does it work?

"Ukraine for Every Child" will become an online platform where all the necessary information and resources related to the adoption and placement of children in family-based care can be found in a single place, such as a step-by-step algorithm of actions to take a child into the family, learning about family-based forms of care, finding the right expert, etc.
