Duda calls Security Council of Poland meeting to discuss Ukraine

On Wednesday, December 20, Polish President Andrzej Duda will convene a meeting of the Polish National Defense Council, in which the new Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, and members of his government will take part for the first time.

The head of the National Security Bureau (NSB) of the Republic of Poland, Jacek Siewiera, announced this on ZET radio.

According to the chairman, the meeting is scheduled for 12:30 (Kyiv time) in the Belvedere presidential palace.

"The issues of the security situation related to the situation at the front in Ukraine, the aspect of international security, the possibility of supporting Ukraine's armed forces, the issue of reforming the system of management of the armed forces, and the initiative of the president regarding the law on reforming the system [defense capabilities – ed.] will be discussed," Jacek Siewiera noted.

He said Poland has three years to prepare for a possible confrontation with Russia.

According to him, Russia could restore or produce 20 tanks a year at the beginning of this year, and now its capacity in this direction has increased even to 300 tanks a year.

As reported, parliamentary elections were held in Poland on October 15. On November 13, President Andrzej Duda entrusted the formation of a new government to the current Prime Minister Morawiecki, who held the relevant position since 2017.

And on December 11, the Polish Seimas elected the "Civil Coalition" leader, Donald Tusk, as the country's new prime minister.

Currently, Poland and the new Polish government will require the entire free world to mobilize efforts to help Ukraine in the war with the aggressor country.
