United to win: Ukraine will receive additional CV90 combat vehicles from Sweden
On December 18, the defense ministers of Sweden and Denmark signed a joint declaration on the supply of additional Swedish CV90 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.
Rubryka writes about this, referring to the Swedish government's website.
What is the problem?
Back in January, the Minister of Defense of Sweden, Paul Jonsson, stated that Sweden would transfer about 50 CV-90 armored combat vehicles to Ukraine.
Ukrainian defenders were trained in Sweden on CV90 infantry fighting vehicles. As they claim, this equipment has already shown itself well on the battlefield in Ukraine.
However, due to Russia's numerical superiority in technology, Ukrainian soldiers are catastrophically lacking in modern, modernized equipment to conduct successful offensive actions and destroy the Russian invaders on the Ukrainian lands they captured.
What is the solution?
On December 18, the defense ministers of Sweden and Denmark signed a joint declaration regarding the supply of additional Swedish CV90 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.
How does it work?
As reported, Denmark will make a financial contribution of 1.8 billion Danish kroner, and Sweden will support procurement within the framework of the agreement concluded between the Defense Equipment Agency (FMV) and Ukraine in July 2023.
"This is an important step to support Ukraine's defense forces together with Denmark. We will use the industrial potential to ensure the supply of new CV90 combat vehicles to Ukraine.
The CV90 combat vehicle was and is a significant addition to Ukraine's defense after Sweden handed over 50 BMP earlier this year," said Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonsson.
Note that CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles are equipped with:
- 40-mm automatic guns,
- smoke grenade launchers,
- machine guns
The automatic gun can fire against infantry, armored vehicles, and air targets at a distance of up to four kilometers.
We will remind you that Rubryka wrote that Ukraine needs modern military equipment, and "doing it on your own" is not an option. Meanwhile, Ukraine is expectedly popular among arms manufacturers. Because there are no more political barriers, as in 2014, Ukraine will definitely buy tens of billions of dollars worth of military equipment.
That's why we tell you which international companies are already entering Ukraine, whether this will kill Ukraine's own defense industry, and what problems still need to be solved. In addition, the shortage of artillery ammunition will continue in Ukraine. To compensate for the lack of shells, Ukraine is increasing the production of kamikaze drones.
