The company reported that on its official website.
"The German Bundeswehr has again ordered a batch of 155 mm artillery ammunition from Rheinmetall in accordance with the framework agreement. The Rheinmetall company received an order to supply several tens of thousands of shells of various types of Ukraine's armed forces. The value of the order is a three-digit amount in millions of euros. Delivery is planned for the 2025 year," the message reads.
The new order continues the series of artillery ammunition orders previously placed by the Bundeswehr for the armed forces of Ukraine and Germany. In July 2023, Rheinmetall concluded a new framework agreement with the Bundeswehr in the artillery sector, which delivers several hundred thousand shells, fuses, and projectile charges.
The new framework agreement runs until 2029 and has a potential gross order volume of around 1.2 billion euros. The need to replenish ammunition stocks caused by the war in Ukraine led to large contracts for artillery ammunition for Rheinmetall.
Rheinmetall's family of artillery munitions includes, among others, the DM121 high-explosive fragmentation projectile, the DM125 smoke/shading projectile, the DM121 SMArt seeker projectile (co-developed with Diehl Defence). The group's product package also includes the family of universal 155-mm artillery ammunition Assegai manufactured by the South African company Rheinmetall Denel.
Rheinmetall also offers the Rheinmetall Expal Munitions family of artillery pieces, including the 155 mm M107 and the 155 mm extended-range gun.
For reference:
It should be noted that the Federal Antimonopoly Office of Germany allowed Rheinmetall to create a joint venture with Ukraine at the end of September.
It was reported that the company will be based in Kyiv.
Rheinmetall noted that the Kremlin's threats to intensify the bombing of Ukraine will not affect the intentions of the German arms company to build a tank plant in Ukraine.
It was previously reported that the German arms company Rheinmetall is negotiating the construction of a tank plant in Ukraine.
It is important to note that Rheinmetall is actively helping Ukraine in the war against Russia by supplying ammunition and various equipment. In particular, the company recently received a new order for artillery shells for Ukraine.
