General Staff: Russia doesn’t stop its attempts to surround Avdiivka

Russian forces continue their advance toward Avdiivka, attempting to encircle the city. 

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian military repelled 45 enemy attacks on the Avdiivka front, holding their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, and successfully destroyed a "Kinzhаl" air-launched ballistic missile, Rubryka reports.

Over the past day, there were 110 combat clashes. The Russian forces conducted a total of four missile strikes and 50 aviation strikes, launching 56 salvos from multiple rocket launching systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and civilian towns. Unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to Russian attacks, with private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure suffering damage and destruction.

During the night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, using the S-300 surface-to-air missile system and 14 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. Anti-aircraft defense forces successfully destroyed all attacking drones.

Locations hit by airstrikes include Synkivka in the Kharkiv region, Serebrianske forestry in the Luhansk region, Terny, Ivanivka, Andriivka, Toretsk, Avdiivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, and Prechystivka in the Donetsk region, Preobrazhenka in the Zaporizhzhia region, and Daryivka, Krynky, Prydniprovskoe in the Kherson region.

More than 100 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Front-line situation:

The operational situation remains unchanged in the area of responsibility of the Joint Forces Operation "North" on the Volyn and Polissia directions.

In the northern and northeastern directions, the Russians maintain a military presence in border areas, actively engaging in diversionary activities to prevent the redeployment of Ukrainian forces to critical fronts and increasing the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod Oblast, Russia.

In the area of responsibility of the Joint Forces Operation "Khortytsia" in the Kupiansk area, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 enemy attacks near Synkivka in the Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman front, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian attack east of Terniv in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 enemy attacks near Ivanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian defense forces continue to inflict losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment, consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Joint Forces Operation "Tavria" in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the enemy attempting to surround Avdiivka. Ukrainian troops steadfastly held the defense, causing significant losses to the occupiers. Defense forces successfully repelled 23 attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 22 attacks south of Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

On the Mariupol front, Ukrainian defense forces are holding back the enemy in the area of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, successfully repelling 17 attacks.

Near Shakhtarsk, the Russians did not conduct offensive operations.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defense forces repelled nine enemy attacks north of Pryutne, west, and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Simultaneously, on the Melitopol front, Ukrainian defense forces continue active operations, inflicting losses on the occupation forces in personnel and equipment along the entire frontline.

In the area of responsibility of the Joint Forces Operation "Odesa" in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian forces continue to hold occupied positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, conducting counter-battery battles and delivering fire strikes on Russian rear positions.

Successes of the Ukrainian military:

During the past day, the Ukrainian defense forces' aviation struck two areas of concentration of Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed one Kh-47M "Kinzhаl" air-launched ballistic missile.
