On Monday night of December 11, the Russian army launched an attack on the south of Ukraine using 18 kamikaze drones.

According to South Defense Forces and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, all the attacks were successfully thwarted, but there are damages due to the falling debris, Rubryka reports.

The Russian forces released 18 Shahed 136 drones from the territory of the occupied Crimea, targeting the southern regions. The Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted them, with 13 drones downed in the Mykolaiv region, three in the Kherson region, and two in the Odesa region.

Russian forces also attacked the Ukrainian capital with ballistic missiles. In the early hours of December 11, explosions were heard in Kyiv, initiating an air raid alarm. Residents reported at least ten explosions.

Soon after, the Kyiv City State Administration announced that the air defense forces were active. In the Darnytskyi district, residential building windows were shattered, and preliminary reports showed that a child and two adults sustained injuries caused by glass fragments.

The attack also damaged an unfinished building, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished. There were reports of smoke on the roof of a multi-story building in the Holosiivskyi district, but this information was not confirmed.

During the night of December 11, the Ukrainian air defense forces successfully destroyed all Russian targets: eight ballistic missiles and 18 Shahed drones.

Rubryka reported the massive attack on November 25, when the Russian army released over 70 Shaheds drones in Ukraine, including Kyiv. The occupiers had been accumulating missiles for a long time before restarting attacks on civilian cities.

On December 8, for the first time in 79 days, Russia attacked Ukraine with cruise missiles from Tu-95MS bombers. Although the air defense forces successfully intercepted all Russian missiles headed for Kyiv, buildings were damaged by falling debris.
