Ukraine to present digital tools it uses to prevent corruption at UN conference
A Ukrainian delegation, led by the Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), Oleksandr Novikov, has begun a visit to the United States as part of the 10th session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
According to NACP, the Ukrainian delegation also includes Ukraine's Minister of Justice, Denys Maliuska, Anastasiia Radina, Chair of the Anti-Corruption Policy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Semen Kryvonos, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Olena Duma, Chair of the National Agency of Ukraine for Detection, Search, and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes, and Yaroslav Liubchenko, Deputy Head of NACP, Rubryka reports.
The conference will take place from December 11 to 15 in the city of Atlanta. During the visit, NACP Chief Oleksandr Novikov is scheduled to speak at the conference's plenary session.
The speech will focus on how societies and states affected by corruption lead to wars, conflicts, and poverty while promoting integrity contributes to peace and sustainable global development.
Ukraine will also organize a separate event during the conference called "Ukraine Integrity Ecosystem: War and Post-War Recovery." During this event, the NACP director will present international partners with Ukrainian digital tools for preventing corruption and discuss their role and potential use by other countries and the UN itself.
The event aims to showcase Ukraine's ability to resist the enemy and ensure the honest use of aid provided in the military and other fields.
Novikov will hold a series of meetings with heads of anti-corruption bodies, government representatives, and international organizations to share Ukraine's experience in building integrity and preventing corruption, as well as to learn from the experiences of other countries.
The Ukrainian side will present the "Manager's Guide," which can be applied by any organization worldwide to transform into an effective and honest entity. The "Manager's Guide" for building an honest organization is available in Ukrainian and English.
The Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption is the main event for all representatives in the anti-corruption field from the 193 member countries of this organization. It takes place once every two years.
Conference participants include heads of anti-corruption agencies, ministers, leading researchers studying anti-corruption issues, and representatives of international and civil organizations worldwide.
Background
NACP and the Canadian international human rights organization Transparency International Canada will collaborate on establishing a corruption disclosure institute. Transparency International Canada is ready to assist in analyzing legislation regarding the rights and guarantees of whistleblowers.
The National Agency for Corruption Prevention also launched a new module on the Anti-Corruption Portal for creating integrity programs for organizations.
Earlier, NABU launched the Unified Whistleblower Reporting Portal, where people can report corruption facts.
Also, on March 4, the government approved the State Anti-Corruption Program, a vital tool for implementing the Anti-Corruption Strategy 2021-2025.
On September 19, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted three anti-corruption decisions.
