Russian troops are building up more defenses and pull reserves for southern front – AFU

Russian forces continue to strengthen the defenses of their positions, pull up reserves, and observe the actions of Ukrainian troops on the southern front, the AFU press release says.

The Russian side attempts to disrupt Ukraine's presence on the left bank of the Kherson region, using drones and artillery fire.

The operational command also adds that as of today, intelligence has not detected any signs of enemy offensive groups forming.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River and inflict fire on Russian terrorists. There are only two enemy ships in the Black Sea.

"There are 3 warships of the enemy fleet at sea, 2 of them in the Black Sea and 1 in the Sea of Azov. The missile launchers have been brought to their basing points," the press release said.

Russian troops fired 12 times at populated areas over the past day, including at least seven times at Kherson. Three people were injured as a result of the shelling, and there was damage to high-rise buildings, administrative buildings, and private homes.

"Continuing to terrorize the civilian population of the right bank, the enemy struck using 3 FPV drones and dropped 8 fragmentation munitions from UAVs of various modifications on the settlements of Zolota Balka, Beryslav, Havrylivka, Novoberislav. As a result of the enemy's shrapnel munitions, 1 civilian was killed in Beryslav and another was wounded. A private house was damaged,"

Russian forces conducted an air strike with an X-59 guided missile on Kryvyi Rih. On the morning of December 8, after the attack on Kharkiv with drones and missiles, Russian troops fired missiles at Ukraine from strategic aviation aircraft using seven Tu-95s. Russian forces launched 20 missiles, 14 of which were shot down.

All missiles heading towards Kyiv were shot down on approach. There is no information on casualties or damage.
